The DataStor M2 NAS is available in four basic models specifically customized for a variety of direct-attached storage subsystems: SCSI-to-SCSI, FC-to-FC, SATA-to-SCSI and SATA-to-FC. The M2 supports two Ultra320 SCSI ports or up to four 4Gb Fibre Channel ports for mid-range hybrid iSCSI storage solutions.

High performance hardware features include single or dual Xeon processors, up to 16GB buffered system memory with error correction, mirrored high-speed drives for the operating system, dual redundant power supply, and dual copper gigabit Ethernet connectivity.

The DataStor M2 NAS-Engine is extremely versatile and supports both NAS and iSCSI protocols. It comes standard with 32 delta-based snapshots per LUN, IP trunking, and synchronous mirroring service. Another standard service is active-active failover which allows the DataStor M2 NAS-Engine to be clustered with a second DataStor M2 NAS-Engine for the finest in high-availability solutions. Fibre Channel multipathing service is standard on the M2 models for SATA-to-FC and FC-to-FC RAID subsystems.
