(DNF), a leading maker of high-performance network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SANs), RAID and iSCSI systems, today introduced Hyper Solid State™ (HSS) disk drive technology, an energy-efficient new breed of disk storage that delivers up to 20 times the drive performance of conventional, 15,000 RPM enterprise-class SAS, SCSI and Fibre Channel disk drives. Effective immediately, DNF will begin offering the new technology in 120GB configurations as an option across the full DNF product line, with 200GB models available soon.

So far this year, Emulex has acquired chip maker Aarohi; Brocade bought file virtualization startup NuView; ADIC purchased data de-duplication vendor Rocksoft; QLogic grabbed InfiniBand component manufacturer Pathscale; Hewlett-Packard gobbled up database archiver OuterBay; Dynamic Network Factory (DNF) bought IP SAN vendor StoneFly Networks; and Microsoft swallowed iSCSI software startup String Bean Software -- removing seven firms from having to seek funding.

Hayward-based Dynamic Network Factory Inc. (DNF), a maker of network storage systems, named Carl Munio as executive vice president of operations.
Munio comes to Dynamic from San Ramon-based SBE Inc., a networking solutions provider, where he served as vice president of engineering. He joined SBE following its 2003 acquisition of Antares Microsystems, where he was chief operating officer and chief technical officer over a seven-year period. He also worked at Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard.

The new site will give the company more space to expand its business. Dynamic Network plans to house its sales team in the former headquarters. The company also announced that StoneFly, one its subsidiaries, is moving its headquarters to San Diego.
