The Spod 16000 JBOD 3U Rackmount is an ultra high-density 3U Serial ATA/SAS-based Multilane SAS JBOD subsystem designed for the growing storage industry where increasing capacity exceeds available rack space. This ultra high density combined with the 2,400MB/s SAS architecture makes the Spod 16000 JBOD an ideal solution for HDTV, video streaming, data warehousing, and many other applications that require large amounts of capacity and performance.
Designed to meet the challenge of today's high-capacity storage demands, the Spod 16000 JBOD blends SAS interface technology with cost-effective SATA and or high-performance SAS drives, and is ideally suited for use under external RAID or NAS engines. The controller has two 4x multilane host channels complemented by two 4x multilane cascading channels for expansion. A total of seven Spod 16000 JBODs can be cascaded for unprecedented scalability of up to 84 TeraBytes.
The multilane design ensures performance up to 2,400MB/s, while dual port capability allows for connection failover at both the drive and interface level. This feature set makes the Spod 16000 ideal for a wide range of applications on workstations, Windows 2003/NT/XP, Linux, or Unix-based servers. These applications include disk-to-disk backup, Video on Demand, CCTV, stream editing and others.
The Spod 16000 JBOD features the same stiffness, rigidity, backplane, electrical and cooling technology found on our integrated RAID solutions. All the active components are hot-swappable including the power supply modules, cooling fan modules, and hard disk drives and trays. If any of these components fail, they can be replaced without turning off the Spod 16000 JBOD and disrupting the smooth operation of the JBOD.
The Spod 16000 JBOD is an excellent choice for mission-critical applications. The Spod 16000 JBOD's scalable design makes expansion easy when storage needs increase. It is the ideal storage solution for applications requiring high data throughput, availability, and flexibility in configuration.
