The FlexStor-NAS™ 620twz RAID NAS+iSCSi server is an entry-level NAS tower appliance that incorporates storage capacities of 1,800GB (1.8TB) to 18,000GB (18TB) with the latest RAID and NAS technologies. High performance features include quad-core Xeon processors, up to 12GB system memory, and dual copper gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The 620twz is optimized for performance as a unified file and block serving appliance with file de-duplication.
This fault-tolerant data storage comes in a convenient, space-saving tower chassis with hot-swappable drives and trays. Your data is protected with your choice of RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and JBOD across six hot-swappable SAS or SATA disk drives on a high-performance 6Gbps SAS/SATA RAID controller.
The FlexStor-NAS 620twz provides two RAID Certified 300GB 15,000RPM SAS disk drives mirrored at RAID 1 specifically for the operating system. These disks and RAID controller are completely independent of the data storage array.
Installation and setup are a breeze, allowing the FlexStor-NAS 620twz to be up and running in about 15 minutes after it is unpacked from the box. Additional software, including backup client or server applications, may be loaded on the NAS appliance via its integrated DVD+/-RW drive.
FlexStor-NAS Servers are powered by Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 64-bit operating system. Windows Storage Server 2008 is a dedicated file and print server based on Windows Server 2008 that is designed for dependability, seamless integration, and best value in networked storage. Windows Storage Server 2008 integrates with existing infrastructures and supports heterogeneous file serving as well as backup and replication of stored data. Windows Storage Server is also an ideal solution for consolidating multiple file servers into a single solution that enables cost reduction and policy-based management of storage resources.
Windows Storage Server 2008 includes Remote Desktop and an intuitive browser-based management interface, which allow system administrators to remotely manage the FlexStor-NAS Server from anywhere in the world. It also includes Volume Shadow Copy Service which makes storage and back up easier, while reducing demands on system administrators. Volume Shadow Copy technology enables you to retrieve old copies of deleted files right from your Windows desktop.
