The FlexStor-NAS™ 400w RAID NAS server is a high-availability NAS appliance that incorporates storage capacities of 1,200GB (1.2TB) to 8,000GB (8TB) with the latest RAID and NAS technologies. High performance features include single or dual Intel second generation Quad-Core Xeon processors, up to 12GB fully-buffered system memory with error correction, and dual copper gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The 400w is optimized for performance as a unified file and block serving appliance with file de-duplication.
This fault-tolerant data storage comes in a convenient, space-saving 1U Rackmount chassis with hot-swappable drives and trays, redundant 700 Watt hot-swappable 1+1 power supply, and an advanced cooling system. Your data is protected with your choice of RAID 0, 1, 1E, 3, 5 and JBOD across four hot-swappable SATA disk drives on a high-performance 3Gbps SATA RAID controller.
Installation and setup are a breeze, allowing the FlexStor-NAS 400w to be up and running in about 15 minutes after it is mounted in your rack or cabinet. Additional software, including backup client or server applications, may be loaded on the NAS appliance via its integrated DVD-ROM drive.
FlexStor-NAS Servers are powered by Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Workgroup 64-bit operating system. Windows Storage Server 2008 Workgroup 64-bit is a dedicated file and print server based on Windows Server 2008 that is designed for dependability, seamless integration, and best value in networked storage. Windows Storage Server 2008 integrates with existing infrastructures and supports heterogeneous file serving as well as backup and replication of stored data. Windows Storage Server is also an ideal solution for consolidating multiple file servers into a single solution that enables cost reduction and policy-based management of storage resources.
Windows Storage Server 2008 Workgroup includes Remote Desktop and an intuitive browser-based management interface, which allow system administrators to remotely manage the FlexStor-NAS Server from anywhere in the world. It also includes Volume Shadow Copy Service which makes storage and back up easier, while reducing demands on system administrators. Volume Shadow Copy technology enables you to retrieve old copies of deleted files right from your Windows desktop.
